The Real Housewife of...

what reality TV game show would you most like to be a contestant on?

I'm a reality tv fanatic. Everything from Survivor to Top Chef to Jersey Couture to Flipping Out. And while I LOVE watching these shows I would never want to be on Survivor (hello, they sleep with bugs), The Amazing Race (heights & I don't mix) or Top Chef (some of those dishes sound less than edible) but...

I would LOVE to be part of The Real Housewives series. Either on one of their shows, particularly NJ, Atlanta or even NY, or starring in my own series - The Real Housewives of B-Tot.* As the house wife of T-Ville* you could follow me around as I work, shop, make dinner, blog, read or resolve disputes over a missing biscuit. (True story.)

I'm sure it would be "Must See TV"...or maybe not but it would still be fun to try it! Provided that they cleaned my house before each taping of course.

Taking a leap into an expensive project took a lot of thought. We went back & forth because the economy hasn't been great, business hasn't been great and we're not big risk takers when it comes to financials.

After debating the issue for a while we decided this weekend to have a deck built on the back of our house. We made the arrangements with the builder & paid for the materials.

The next day I discovered that one of our toilets was leaking & had been for a little while. Ugh.

That was fixed on Wednesday.

It was that same day I noticed my car making an odd squeaky noise. Then I noticed it was idling a bit harder than usual. Ugh.

I mentioned it to S when it didn't stop so he made arrangements to take it to the shop today and I was going to drive my "old" car to work.

That should be fixed today when a new water pump is installed.

I get into the car this morning and turn the key. Nothing. I try again and it's still not cutting on so I called S at work to give him more bad news. Ugh.

When he gets there he tries charging the battery but that doesn't seem to be the issue. A few more attempts - nothing.

The car has been sitting in the same place for a while so he rolls it down the driveway just to make sure it's getting gas. Eureka!

That did it thank goodness.

I feel sorta like the "grim reaper" of stuff this week. I wouldn't be surprised if S stop taking my calls.

Hell, I don't want to make anymore calls.

In my estimation I'm due for some good luck so I'm headed out to buy a lottery ticket or two.

That is if my car starts.

...there's no tornado coming.

Eh, well there COULD have been. Yesterday afternoon the National Weather Service issued a Tornado Warning for my area.

In a matter of moments my father called, my sister called and I called S to share the impending doom and warn them. My stepmother went outside to secure the loose items outside as the clouds began to darken.

And me? I went outside too...in order to record the swirling clouds and take pictures of the evil looking sky.

It might be hard to see, but the clouds were moving pretty quickly, joining together to create one big, dark, ominous sky.





Please accept my apologies for all the talking in the background. And don't make fun of my accent. I can't hear it, but I'm sure you can.

Thank goodness I carry my point & shoot camera everywhere with me so I could get a few shots of the sky. (I love my new camera but it's too bulky to carry around, and it was too expensive to leave in my car.)






Fortunately the warning expired around 4:30 yesterday and everything was good for the rest of the evening. In fact, there was a beautiful pink sky last night as the sun went down.

I would have taken some pictures of that too, except So You Think You Can Dance was on...and well, you know I'm a reality tv show addict so just use your imagination.

What The @#$%? Wednesday

Gosh, wasn't SITS Spring Fling awesome?

After visiting at least a 100 other blogs (maybe twice that many!) I'm bushed. Last night I emailed my partner-in-crime for Theme Week Denise and told her to expect a later post from me today cause I just wasn't motivated last night.

And now I'm wondering where all the comments are today? Yes! I'm having comment withdrawal already. WT!@#?

Is It Morning Already?!

The world's worst invention has to be the alarm clock. I swear that I hate that little box more than anything in the world. Well, except for IE when I get errors and it shuts down all my open pages - if you saw my tweets yesterday you know what I speak of.

Back to the devil box. I mean who thought it was a good idea to be jolted, yes JOLTED out of bed each morning. Typical alarm clocks come equipped with high pitch sounds or music, which is equally as awful.

Couldn't there be something a little more soothing than the piercing BEEP, BEEP, BEEP that we are all familiar with?! Oh wait, SS does have something a little different. It plays animal sounds.....so instead of beeping I get to hear a rooster squawking.

I could smack my aunt for giving him that gift.

Although to be honest I don't hear it very often.

Cause S & SS are part of that irritating bunch of people that immediately get up when the clock goes off. The devil box chirps and they jump. How can I get that kind of power?

Me? I hit the snooze no less than 3 times each morning and I purposely set my clock 20 minutes ahead so that I can.

The worst part of it all is that I'm still late. All the time. Everyday. Without fail.

Ugh.

What The ________? Wednesday

I really, really like this post theme. It's so vague that it can be about anything. The last two times I've used it so that I could post weird pictures of first my Lil Sis and then me. But this time it's because I need your help.

As in What The ___ should I be blogging about? Seriously let me know what you want to read about. More about me and the fam, or about my political views or more crazy pictures. Would you rather see posts about the kids or recipe posts?

I really, really need to know what you want to see more of. Some days I'm just blank as to what to blog about...not that I don't have things to say but sometimes it's best NOT to say them ya' know.

For example on Monday my post was only like 6 words. I could have elaborated but who really wants to hear how miserable I was? Okay so you're reading about that now. Whatev.

What the ________ ? Wednesday...again

You remember this from theme week right?

Yeah sure you do.

It was Denise's genius idea to do a theme week and since I lack the creative skill to come up with my own blog topics really like her, I jumped on board.

My very first What the ______? Wednesday featured my Lil Sis and all her crazy pictures.

To retaliate she posted some pictures of me on her abandoned blog. And since I'm a good sport -As if!- I'm going to share them with you...

Don't hate.

TV...A Constitutional Right?

So in all honesty they aren't seeking to add it to the Constitution but still what the hell is wrong with Congress?! First it was THEIR idea to have everything changed to digital and the initial deadline was set by them - February 17, 2009. Second, when the decision was made they provided a THREE YEAR time frame to get everything transitioned.

Now they have moved the date back. Now that all the TV stations have spent the time and money to upgrade. Now that those costs have been passed onto us - And you know it has. Now that millions of consumers have upgraded their televisions, added cable or satellite, or purchased their converter box.

NOW they changed the date to June 12, 2009.

This really ticks me off because of all the reasons why I listed above, but more than that. These buffoons in Congress are just plain crazy. With everything going on in our country (and beyond, because let's not forget we are still at war) they are concerned about whether every American will be able to watch TV?!

Are they serious?

I don't remember anyone saying to me that I have the right to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness AND clear digital TV. Is it in the wording somewhere with right to bear arms and free speech? Cause maybe I missed that part.

Well I hope the thousands of people that are unemployed, or homeless, or barely scraping by get their priorities in line with Congress. Forget about unpaid mortgages or rising utility costs. Forget about gas prices or grocery recalls. Forget about health care.

Focus on what really matters - The Digital Television Switch.
