The Unwelcome Visitor

Ugh.

Hormones suck.

The End...

Ahem. Oh, that's not going to work again huh!?

Well alright then. I'll just point out that it was only 23 days ago that I wrote that very statement and it applies again.

Already.

TMI? Maybe. But I'm whiny and I feel like complaining.

I did my Superwoman thing Monday and Tuesday. The bad behavior started Tuesday evening. I was saying evil things and overreacting. To. Everything.

Combined with my face breaking out, I knew it was coming. Yesterday I hit every emotion known to humans and maybe some that isn't. I was tired. Hot. Cold. Bored. Busy. Exhausted.

But couldn't sleep.

Literally tossed and turned all night. I think the best sleep that I got all night was after the alarm clock went off and I hit the snooze button. That is until it went off 9 minutes later.

I have been dealing with this "visitor" since I was 12. But I was one of the lucky ones that never had an issue with it in my younger years. Three days from start to finish and it was a wrap. I had friends that would miss school, miss work and lie in bed for days.

Not me.

I must have bragged one too many times though. Because for the last 5 years it has been increasingly longer, more painful, intertwining itself with an emotional roller coaster.

...And I want off the ride.

Thats one reason why I am so glad I had a hysterectomy. I still get pms but not near as bad. Good luck with it all.

You cursed me. You said yours was coming, I told you my stomach was killing me yesterday and lordy be... guess "who" arrived during your visitors stay? AND EARLY! Although I was blessed to be in the only girl in 4/5th grade to discover what we were talking in Sex Education... do the math AGE 9! And, up until I had my tubes tied, I too had a 3 day encounter... NOT anymore. Every month since May 2008, I feel as though I am having contractions again, and with my already present mental issues, it only contributes to making me more crazy.

Is this a family thing and not the surgrey!?!?

Girl, I feel your pain. Literally. I used to think that women who claimed to have PMS were making it up. I kid you not. A bunch of whiners, is what I thought. And then about 18 months after I had Ross (18 years ago) I was inexplicably cranky and then I did the math and it thought "OMG! I have PMS!!!"

Now I'm eating my words.

I'm right there with you. I used to think I was just too perfect with my little 3-day visits. (which , by the way, never required more help than a slender regular friend could provide) Flash forward to now and the whole process is a nightmare. I guess nature does this to use so we will embrace the big M.

And yes, those little bottles of ketchup are just so adorable!

I hear ya sister, not fun. I am happy to say though, I am considered through with menopause at 51 and it is great. Old Aunt Flo hasn't visited since last September, and then it was a 2 day event. She hadn't been for a visit for a year and a half befor that. Hang in there, someday it will end.

Thanks for stopping by today!

I totally sympathize with you!
My advice, from someone who has been cursed since 13 and it has only gotten worse if you can believe it, is heating pad and salty & sweet snacks! But that comes from someone who likes to dip her fries in her milk shakes! Hope you feel better!

I wish there was a way we could DELETE PMS from our systems w/o messing up tons of other things :-)

Ohhh...I feel for you. Isn't there anything a doctor can give you? I have an IUD (TMI?) and haven't had a "visitor" in years.

That totally sucks. Hope you're feeling better soon. I tend to brag about my lack of problems overall in that area. I guess I should stop now.

I'm not laughing at all, because I can SO relate and I'm SO sorry for that. Ugh. It's horrible. I think the worst part about it is that I KNOW when I'm in that "rollercoaster" emotional ride and I try to stay away from Greg and he wants to know what's wrong and then I might get snappy. He's understanding, but that can only last for so long. It's the emotions that get to me the most!

I'm right there with ya, sister. Used to be 3 days... easy peasy. Maybe the occasional backache/cramp.

Now... UGH. My face breaks out (it never used to do that!), I'm overly-emotional, get killer cramps...

So unfair.

Oh that Aunt Flo is such a bitch. I gave her the boot (along with my uterus) when I had a hysterectomy 8 years ago - and I've never missed her for even one nano-second.

Hope you feel better. Chocolate. And lots of it.

I think it gets worse after childbirth. Seriously. My kids are in their early 20's. I'm ready for it to GO AWAY.
