*The teen's Jazz band rocked the house on Tuesday.



*Those LATISSE commercials scare me. Why would anyone want longer lashes SO bad that they would risk having their eye color change?! "...there is potential for increased brown iris pigmentation which is likely to be permanent." Um, no thanks. As they say be careful what you wish for.



*I may not know sweaters but I know socks. I'm wearing these today & loving them.



*Counting down the days until December 1st. That's when Virginia goes smoke free. Can I get an amen?! I love playing darts but coming home smelling like an ashtray is not my idea of fun.



*For those naysayers that claim video games are bad for the kiddos, please point them in my direction. The teen is excelling in percussion and I'm attributing it to the hours spent playing Rock Band.



*I totally carved these for our competition tomorrow. Crossing my fingers that the rain holds off.



*Tonight's football game is Senior night. That means S & I are walking the teen down the track in front of everyone, so if you could give a little nod upstairs that I do not trip and fall I would really appreciate it.

Swapping & Other Randomness

I jumped on board with Shannon's Hometown Swap as soon as she announced it. Only realizing later that I would have to think of interesting things to send my swap partner.

I live in a very tiny town, in a very rural county, next to a smaller-side city. Did you catch all that?

Thinking outside the box I did manage to fill my box and ship it off to my partner. As of today she still hasn't posted it, so I'm not going to ruin the surprise, but I cannot wait to see what she thinks.

I received my box on Wednesday from Lana in Texas.



Lana sent me three postcards showing the beautiful Texas scenery, a key chain, a magnet for my fridge, a spoon rest, playing cards and a large button proclaiming "Don't Mess With Texas". I'm contemplating changing it to "Don't Mess with ME" and wearing it around the house during Cherry Monkey time.

Although I'm not officially declaring this a Blog Fart Friday because I wanted to give The Hometown Swap it's due, I am going to include some of my normal Friday randomness.

It just wouldn't be Friday without it...

- My dart team took a total butt whooping last night, losing 9 to 2 in our first summer league game. In our defense these guys were A & B league players, while we are C league all the way. I have to say that even though we lost (BIG!) we had an awesome time! We were at our home bar and the other team were some of the nicest people that we've played against.

-Sadly, S missed the first game because he was away on "business". That's in quotes because "business" meant going to Myrtle Beach, staying at the Hilton & partying till 2 in the morning with his clients.

-I've said it before and I'm saying it again - sweet tea is the nectar of the Gods. Seriously.

-Lula has been known to refer to her section of VA as Forks, as in The Twilight Forks, because of all the rain and foggy conditions. This week MY part of VA can also be declared very Forks-like. Minus the sexy vamps and werewolves. Unfortunately.

-Since TMM made mention of snakes in the toilet, I have to cut the light on when I go to the bathroom during the night. That makes for one tiring night when too much sweet tea is consumed.

-I'm looking forward to S's return today, weekend graduation parties & seeing my pal A's newborn son.

*Does anyone have an extra ark? Seriously it's raining. Again. And I'm ready to load up the animals and head to dry ground.

Of course by "animals" I mean S...{{rawr}}

*At our spaghetti dinner fundraiser last night (raised $665 - woohoo!) S & I realized we only have 12 months of high school left with the teen. We then fist bumped in celebration.

*During said fundraiser last night two teenage girls said they like my shirt. My Walmart shirt. So does that make me cool? Or does that make Walmart cool?

*All parents/adults fist bump right?

*After my complaint about Comcast last week, I had a comment from Mark Casem @ ComcastCares1. After one email exchange last Friday, I've heard nothing. Nada. Nilch from him. Ummm, if they really cared then I wouldn't haven't been left hanging...

*By Walmart shirt, I actually mean the second one I bought over the weekend. Same shirt, different color. Just trying to keep it real here.

*We signed up for the Summer Dart league...that starts next week and guess who's captain? Me! Which means absolutely nothing.

*While some call me captain, you can call me a Hot Mama


That's right the Hot Dads recently named me as one of their newest Hot Mama's. (Pictures are on the way fellas!)

*And while I'll be a unimportant captain & a Hot Mama, I will no longer be the booster prez come the end of June and my last official meeting is on Tuesday.

*I'm up entirely too early. And I don't like it. For some reason I woke up right at 6AM and couldn't go back to sleep.

*Comcast's high speed internet is very misleading. Especially the HIGH SPEED part. That earns Comcast a big SUCK IT from your girl this morning!

*I know I risk getting bashed for this, but I was at Walmart yesterday. Sorry, I thought it was unavoidable, but that's a different story altogether. Point is while I was on a wild goose chase, I found THE cutest top. For me. At Walmart. And I bought it. {Let the bashing begin...}

*The graduation went smashingly yesterday. Bratty Nephew #3 was the first one in the door for their little procession, and I was changing my camera lens. Oops! But I got a million other shots (from the back of the room thankyouverymuch) that I'll share next week.

*We had the LOUDEST freakin' storm last night right as we were going to bed. Yes, that's right - even MORE RAIN! In fact it has rained every. day. this. week. Can someone please send the sun back my way?

*I am so thankful that it is Friday and we have a long weekend. We owe that to the men & women that have served our country so don't forget the reason for the holiday!

*Eminem's new CD is disturbing...but I cannot stop listening. I think it's part of the "reality show addiction" I have. You know you shouldn't watch (or listen in this case) but you just can't help it.

*Just heard that Congress has proposed to raise the beer tax by 145%, wine by 233% & liquor even more than it already is. That's just wrong and I am writing my congressman to tell him so. Bastards.

*Why is it that long hairs grow from moles? I have one on the inside of my arm that is teeny-tiny and yet the two longest hairs I've ever seen come from that mole. And no matter how many times I pull them, they just come back.

*I really want to go to Vegas on a SITScation. Who's with me?

-S has off the 3rd Friday of every month so that means not only is he still laying in the bed while I'm blogging hard at work, but there was no one to make me coffee this morning. ~sigh~

-Last night was our band banquet and so as of July 1 I will no longer be the band booster president. By choice. The kids are great and I'll still be involved but not being "in charge" will be a relief to me...

-Doesn't the FDA have more important things to do than harass Cheerios? Seriously.

-I went to my lady bizness appointment this week and left with two prescriptions to help with my PMS. My instructions are to try Yaz for two months and if that doesn't help enough then I should fill the Rx for Lexapro. So essentially I'll be taking those "happy pills" that S has been begging that I get. (BTW do you have any feedback about either drug? I'd love to hear it!)

-I'm eating a bowl of Cheerios with skim milk while typing this post. :)

-My hair needs to be colored so bad. I've been too busy/lazy to do it...and I cannot wait until my hair appointment.

-In case you missed my tweets from yesterday - I'm keeping a running list of items I hate. So far I have:

-That last "hate" really became apparent when there were over a 100 comments that I could not reply to by email from Wednesday. Come on people! I promise not to stalk or spam you. Please for love of all that's holy set up a generic gmail account and allow people to see your email.

-To anyone that did not receive a reply from me-see above. This is an intervention and I can help you.

-So you know that fancy-schmancy camera I keep talking about (Sony alpha DSLR-A300K). When I got it a couple weeks ago the package included the camera w/ basic lens, telescopic lens and an all weather camera bag. (In addition to that I bought a memory card and card reader for my laptop b/c it doesn't use an SD card).

Well, this week it was on sale again BUT it included everything above in the package PLUS an extra battery for $20 LESS. I got screwed right? Wrong. My wonderful hubs went to Best Buy yesterday to buy me the second season of The Tudors and asked about it. He ended up getting the extra battery AND The Tudors for nothing.

Yep, they honored the package items and price this week which resulted in enough left over to get me The Tudors. Originally the movie was meant to be a Mother's Day gift but he was so tickled with himself that he couldn't wait.

*I couldn't start this post without saying that I'm incredibly humbled by all your kinds comments regarding yesterday's post. It goes without saying that it wasn't every one's "cup of tea" so I'm thankful for each one of you that took the time to read it and offer an encouraging word.

*To the lady that unsubscribed - I'm happy that your life is all flowers and hearts, but some of us live in the real world and deal with real life issues. Having said that, you can suck it Janet Faye!

*Ironically Faye is my middle name...and in an ironic twist of fate I share that middle name with my Mother.

*I must remember not go to the ghetto CVS on the first day of the month. Please forgive me because I'm not stereotyping anyone - I'm just stating what I saw. There were a line of people at the bank across the street and then those same people came over and bought alcohol. Now I know why that store carries beer and wine. Sad but true.

*Who does these random people find me on Twitter? Seriously I don't want to follow anyone with the name "3VdQsm". And while I'm talking about Twitter (and who isn't these days?!) can I just say that I think #followfriday is sooooo annoying.

*Oh I have another "suck it" going out to the CVS manager that checked me out today. Dear Sir, I know that I get items dirt cheap from your store, but please pay attention to what I buy before assuming that I'm trying to use two coupons on one item when in fact I bought TWO Neutrogena items and that's why I had TWO coupons. *Can anyone tell that the PMS process has started all over again? Lovely.

*This morning I took the time to sort out my vitamins so that I could bring a week's worth to work. I've started taking them after lunch so I need them here more than I need them at home during the weekdays. Too bad I left them on my dresser. Yeah, I'm a genius that way.

*Carey - I owe you an apology because I still have not mailed your bag to you. The honest truth is that I have gone to TWO different post offices and neither ones of them were open while I was there. I promise that I will get it mailed sometime this year. That is if the post offices in my area will take their heads outta of their asses and realize that being open from 9AM - 4PM is not convenient for those of us that work.

*Rest assurred that my Country Bob goodies will be mailed directly from them so they will be shipped promptly. Unlike the stuff that I have to personally mail. Have you entered yet?

I'm really loving this theme since random is my thing.

*All radio stations should play up beat music in the mornings, especially on Friday mornings.

*One exception to the that rule would be anything by Journey.

*I'm sooo sick of seeing AND hearing Susan Boyle. Please put her under whatever rock she came from. Seriously.

*Even after posting about dinner we still bought take out. The ginormous serving of spaghetti was enough for two meals though.

*Too bad I left it at home, which means I'll be going out for lunch too. Blah.

*My new camera rocks.

*S's new tattoo is going to be awesome. He got the outline last night so there's still a lot of work left but once it's done...woah. Pictures will be on FB later, and here next week. The work IS deserving of a real post.

*The weather is supposed to N.I.C.E. this weekend. I cannot thank Mother Nature enough...

*I'm taking the plunge into gardening and 99% sure that it will be a square foot gardening plot. I'll keep you posted.

This is my first time participating in the whole "Blog Fart" thing but it's far from the first time that I've just listed out a whole bunch of nothing from my mind.

I'm shocked that you guys keep coming back to read this stuff. Really.

Right now all I can think of is how much it sucks to be the only one getting up this morning. SS is on spring break this week and S decided to take off the last three days too.

Not only does it suck because of the obvious reasons, but also because I cannot watch the CBS Early Morning show. I watch the show to stay caught up on current events, the latest news, I really like Harry...and because it gives me a time frame to work with.

I know when the local news does the weather it's 7:25 - that means I have 20 minutes or less to finish getting ready. Today I had no idea what time it was while in the bathroom.

~sigh~ As if I need ANOTHER reason to be late.

The good thing about coming to work is that I get to listen to Steve radio. Do you guys have this?
It's a new station around here and I'm totally in love with it. Apparently there isn't any DJ's, just recorded messages and commercials in between lots of great music.

S is getting another tattoo next week, or at least the outline.

As usual I have a lot stuff to do this weekend. SS has a track meet tomorrow, my house needs to be cleaned, my yard needs to be de-weeded plus I would love to have a garden.

One day I will grow a tomato. This is my vow.

I need to buy supplies for Beefy's cake. She turns 1 on May 5th but her party is on May 2nd so I need to head to Michael's to pick up supplies to make her princess cake.

It's been a while since I made a character cake.

I watched most of the 1st season of The Tudors last night. Finally. I'm not sure what to make of it yet. I don't love it yet, but I like it. And then of course I might be biased cause I think that Jonathan Rhys Meyers is hot. Really hot.

See? Totally hot.

And now there is a nip picture on my blog. Great search material...

I need to cancel my standing hair appointment with my regular hair dresser since I went to a new place this week. It was eh...okay. Closer to the house and the same price, but I still don't think I'm ready to make a switch.

So that's some of the thoughts rolling around in my head...now that I've shared them with you I'm off to SITS to check out their auctions today.
