After touring the battlefields at Gettysburg (Part I found here) we went into town. We had dessert before dinner (YUM!) & then decided to do a ghost walk.
The Dobbins House tour was recommended
so at dusk this guy took us around town to different places, giving us more of a history lesson than a "ghost" story. (Obviously I do NOT recommend the Dobbins House tour.)
Even though it was pretty eerie walking around at night, his stories weren't doing much to scare me so I started taking pictures.
He had spoken about orbs and I was determined to catch some on my camera.

This is S walking away and you can barely see an orb to the right. But then in the next frame the same orb is still there but very bright.
I knew that some of my pictures had orbs, but it wasn't until I downloaded them that I saw how many. I would say 98% of my pictures had at least one orb in it.
How freaky is that?!
So tell me, do you believe in ghosts? How about orbs? Do you think they are spirits or "just dust" as some believe?

I have no clue if orbs are real or not - I had to look up orbs to see what they were. But, they look pretty cool in your pics and make for a good story.
I think when they show up consecutively in pictures yes but sometime you can see the difference between and orb and dust. You know my house is all sorts of f-d up so you know I'm believe ;)
Yep, I believe in orbs and spirits. Actually, if you look at my Picasa site, the July 2009, look through about mid way, you'll see what Greg and I coined as "sun spots" - very similar to your orbs, as we were going through the Metairie Cemetery. I didn't see these spots when I took the pictures. They freaked me out a little, but I liked it too. I think it's cool.
You just hit on one of my irrational fears. My family (mom, dad, brother & sister) are all convinced that my parents house has "activity". I've always refused to listen to their stories. They weren't even allowed to talk about it around me...then, it happened to me. I've never gathered my 3 kids so fast in all my life. I hit the road and have been uncomfortable in my childhood home since.
I totally believe in all that freaky stuff! But I have to admit it creeps me out when I think about it late at night or if I'm home alone!
First off I have to say I'm sooooo envious of your trip to Gettysburg! I want to go there so bad!! As for orbs, I think some of them are just dust or bugs but I also think some of them are ghosts or spirits. My husband and I love to Ghost Hunt! We haven't done much of it but want to do more in the future. We have been to the Cresent Hotel in Eureka Springs AR. It was a trip! I will have to post pics on my blog soon!
I see no reason not to believe, and I reckon if there is such a thing, Gettysburg would be a darn fine place for them to hang around.
I totally believe. Those are cool pics.
I am all about ghosties. You better believe that Ghosthunters is on my DVR. However, I have a hard time with the orb phenomenon. I think 99.9% of the time they are dust.
I don't WANT to believe and you can't MAKE me! :D
I believe in ghosts or spirits and I believe in orbs. As a previous commenter noted, you can tell the difference beteween dust and orbs. Those are cool pics!
Totally freaky!!! I don't believe in ghosts, in fact I don't need ghosts or ghouls or zombies to terrorize me. That's what my children are for. I think that orbs might be some type of electromagnetic condition. (How smart does THAT make me sound??? Huh? Huh?)
Several years ago we went to Estes Park, Colorado and we took the Ghost Tour for The Stanley Hotel also known as the Lookout Hotel, the one used in the movie The Shining and what Stephen King had in mind for the book. The tour was kind of creepy but the creepiest part was when the tour was over. Darrell looked at his watch to check the time and the crystal of the watch had broken somewhere between the middle of the tour and the end and he swore he didn't hit it on anything.
Okay, I am freaked out. My husband is already in bed and now I swear I see an orb across the room. *Shudders*
Obviously I believe in ghosts. My Mom has seen some but I never have. Probably because they know if they appear that I'll scream at the top of my lungs.
orbs...smorbs. at least you had fun.
We did a ghost tour in Gettysburg this past Oct. I thought the tour and the ghost stories were incredibly lame. I wasn't the least bit afraid. I felt nothing out of the ordinary, but when I got home and downloaded all my pics, I was shocked by the amount of orbs in them. Check it out:

I definitely believe in ghosts are orbs. You can usually tell the difference between dust and orbs. I've seen some amazing pictures from St Augustine FL that really make you believe!
That is so awesome! And you got orbs of LIGHT! Mine are clear-ish.
