"I broke my femur"

"Damn! I broke my &^%@$*^^ femur."

That was my first thought this morning as I slammed my arm into a dresser corner. Pain vibrated through my arm & up my shoulder.

Gah! It hurt like HELL.

That might explain why I thought "femur" when in fact that is part of your leg, not your arm. The pain was so excruciating that it affected my brain & made me forget my anatomy lessons.

Google has since informed me that it was my "radius" that I wrecked havoc on this morning with my clumsiness. Thank goodness for Google.

I have turned into a clumsy oaf in my old age. Stray bruises are pretty common & I'm always banging my toes into something. Table legs, chests, cabinets, chairs - I don't discriminate when it comes to toe banging.

It's got to be pretty bad when S suggests that you stop wearing open toe shoes because he fears for your toes safety.

Poor, poor toes. I feel bad for them, I really do, but I'm not giving up my flip flops. They (& S) can forget it.

As Renoir said, “The pain passes, but the beauty remains.”

Of course Renoir probably never waxed his cha-cha, plucked his eyebrows, wore Lycra or hit his toe so hard that it messed up a fresh pedicure, so he might not be the best authority on the subject.

But don't expect me to start wearing steel toe boots anytime soon. Although you might catch me sporting these...

Attractive huh?

I need a pedicure so bad it ain't funny. But I keep hitting my toe nails on things and breaking them. So what's the point of going somewhere and paying them to paint messed up toenails??? Not to mention I'll just chip them about an hour after I walk out the door.

Oh well, I hear the naked toenail look is really in. Okay, I just made that up, but I think it should.

Michael has to wear steel toed boots to work. And he always wears them when he cuts the grass. But he is quite far from a fashion authority :-)

Now the toe splint thing...my mom needs one of those. Her toes cross. I hope she didn't pass those toe genes on to me!

OMG you had me saying WHAT!!!!! I mean I know the arm must hurt but if you broke your femur wooowwwwza you'd be in a little itty bit of trouble.. That is a nasty bone to break. I can breath now...lol that it's only your arm. Sorry to hear you are getting "old" I'm right there with ya.

Hehe, not laughing at you but with you. I thought I broke my foot yesterday because I stubbed my toe on the FLOOR! Not a chair, not a toy but the damn FLOOR! That takes talent.

Ok I had to laugh.
1. I wondered if you said Femur and was talking about your arm if you knew they were not located in the same place. LOL
2. because it's funny... pain is funny as long as it's not mine.
3. Denise's comment cracked me up... for these reasons... I want and need a pedicure so so bad like her, but always wreck them thank heavens I usually do my own pedicures... being a nail technician does come in handy sometimes. AND two the naked toe does look cute if you have my toes. :)

thats all but now I think i'll convince my MIL who is coming to visit to take me out to get a pedicure... because I can't reach to paint them myself and they are scary to look at.. :(

thanks for the laugh.

So when I read the first line I thought "wow, she said femur. i would just say arm" Yep, I totally forgot where the femur is and I didnt even hit my arm.

Okay, what is that crazy contraption??

I'm a complete klutz. I've always got bruises and scrapes. I'm not giving up my flip-flops either, though.

I broke my humerus last year. Not a damn thing funny about that.

Getting old sucks indeed.

At least it took you a while to turn into the clumsy oaf... I've been rocking it my whole life. ;-)

Ouch!!

I just discovered I didn't know what a femur was. Thanks for the lesson.

Take lots of drugs and milk this for all it's worth! I hope you're feeling better soon!

Ouch! Sorry, so not fun. My husband is really tall and is always smashing his feet into things. I always tell him it is because his head is so far away from his feet :)

What the heck is that thing in the last picture? A toe splint?

I'm accident prone myself so I feel your pain...literally.
