More sleepless nights

I'm plagued with sleep issues. Some of it is that I'm a light sleeper, but a lot of the issues stem from my dreams.

Do you remember when I woke S up in a panic because I thought my house was on fire? Only to realize that it was a dream?

It happened again last night, minus scaring the bejeezus out of my partner. At 3AM I woke straight up and swore I smelled smoke. And again it was nothing more than my imagination.

~sigh~

I cannot tell you the number of times I've woke up believing my dreams. It can take anywhere from a few seconds to minutes to realize it stems from a dream and not reality.

It's so tiring. ~yawn~

I wish there was a solution for these weird dreams that I have. Or that I just get a break from them.

Am I the only freak person that this happens to?

I had a time years ago where I was having really weird and vivid dreams. They seemed so real too.

Remember that old Cosby episode where he ate the hoagie and had the weird dreams. Maybe it's something you ate. Hope its a phase and passes soon.

well....I don't dream (or remember any of them) so I don't know....but....I feel for you.

THE solution is the following:
Every night , right before bed say, "I will not dream or have a nightmare" 19 times. Do it ever night and within a few days...well... you let me know.

I do the same thing - I have VERY vivid dreams. I will wake up MAD as a WET cat at Michael for something he did in my DREAM....and most of the time I stay mad for a little bit after waking up...ha ha!

www.dreammoods.com - you can put in the things you remember and see their meanings.

That has to be freaky to wake up feeling like the dream is real! I hope you don't slip back into them when you fall back asleep.

I have bad dreams all the time. All. The. Time. Mine are more violent, though, than tragedy. I realize pretty quickly that it was just a dream, but it takes me forever to calm down and the endorphins to stop running on high.

It's probably a good thing we're not sleeping together in EE, we'd never get any sleep!

I don't have bad dreams very often, thankfully, and I rarely wake up thinking they are real. I'm also a VERY sound sleeper and sleep through LOTS of things that wake most people up.

I rarely remember my dreams, so I'm no help. Hey do you watch Fringe? They just had an episode involving people with sleep issues and the doctor that helped them ended up stealing their dreams and making them go insane and die.

I have had the same types of dreams before too...sometimes it takes some serious convincing to make myself realize it was just a dream!

That's scary! I have had dreams that I thought were real before, and it is not fun.

I used to have night terrors, thankfully I haven't had an issue with that in a long time.

I only had dreams like that when I was pregnant. I would wake up a lot and hit Benny. He got use to it.

Well, sometimes my imagination goes wild RIGHT BEFORE i fall asleep - and that is enough to freak me out seriously. But once i fall asleep, i'm out. If i'm dreaming, it's usually about fun stuff, hot guys, etc. :)

In a few weeks you may have a dream that I'm spooning you.

Ahem.

I've actually gone to sleep, dreamt something, woken up and smelled smoke. Sworn that I smelled smoke and it wasn't related to a dream. But I'd have to get out of bed, walk around the house, sniff around to make sure it wasn't coming from the attic or anywhere else and then I couldn't get back to sleep. That's happened plenty of times, don't know why. I have an over active sense of smell, I think. Not fun!
