"Trim the Fat" Tuesday (+ a ?)

I took a little break from TTFT last week since I was on vacation. I'm happy to say that I did consume lots of water (and sweet tea but that's another topic) & I got PLENTY of exercise. BUT...yes, there's a BUT...I didn't take my vitamins. Heck, I barely remembered to take my Yaz everyday.

Out of sight, out of mind. ~sigh~

Since I've been back, I'm still drinking water & taking my vitamins again. I'm not that happy about it, but I'm doing it.

My vitamins suck ass.

Initially I was taking a large, horse-sized multivitamin that nearly choked me every morning so I asked for recommendations. Someone suggested the chewable variety so I ran to CVS and picked up TWO bottles. (Buy one get one free- I couldn't pass that up!)

It's like chewing a large, horse-sized piece of "orange" flavored chalk. It is disgusting & I dread chewing them. I've even considered just swallowing them without chewing but I don't know how that would work once it's in my gut.

So here are my goals for the next week:

1. Drink 4 glasses of water a day.
2. Buy NEW vitamins.
3. Take vitamins everyday.
4. Do 20 minutes of exercise 3-4 days a week.

You'll notice I wasn't specific about the type of exercise. Instead of limiting myself to videos, I want to be able to count lots of walking or working outside in the yard. So basically my goal is just to get off my bootay.

So how did you do this week?

Before you leave me, I need a little advice.

It's time to paint my shutters...

...but I can't decide what color. HELP!

What I did on summer vacation...Part I

We went to the great state of WV

to visit with our pals. D&D are originally from NY (I ♥ NY) but have moved all over.

Last year they left us moved to WV & we had not been up since New Year's so we were overdue for a visit.

We arrived fairly late on Sunday so our first outing wasn't until Monday morning when we got to see their daughter in action.

I'm convinced she's the next Maria Sharapova...

After her match we got slurpees & I insulted the nice West Virginian cashier. Completely unintentional. I swear.

Then we road tripped to Gettysburg PA where we toured the battlefields & other monuments.
(That's the Gettysburg Address in case you're wondering. -->)

It's located on this building, which was actually at the end of our tour. You are used to me being backwards by now right?

You can see acres & acres of battlefield from the top.

And my hubs on the steps...

Before that we were at Devil's Den

Where S climbed up...

...and the kids gave me a heart attack.

Across from Devil's Den is what I refer to as the "pee house"

Remember the "castle" from yesterday's picture?

It might not be a real castle but it's as close as I'm getting...and as a Queen, it was my duty to be photographed in the "castle".

This concludes Part I of my summer vacay...Peace out!

Sometimes Reality Sucks...

I'm back to the real world.

Early mornings
Alarm clocks
Work

All things that currently suck in my real life. But I won't whine (too much) because we had a great vacation.

We spent lots of time with our friends, coming back in time for our dart match and then we were off again to visit a potential college for SS. Our very first official college tour.

When did I get so old?

Saturday we took a ride up interstate 81 (again) & went to a wooden bat baseball game. Then yesterday we went shopping.

To put it mildly - I'm beat.

That's the short version of my vacation but I have lots of pictures to download & share so more details will be coming...

I missed you guys!

"Trim the Fat" Tuesday

Last week I decided to keep the same goals as the week before. Here's how I did with them the second time around:

1. Drink 4 glasses of water a day. DID IT! Even this weekend I made sure to get my water in...WOOHOO!
2. Take vitamins EVERYDAY. DID IT! I almost forgot yesterday but remembered right before I fell asleep.
3. Work out with Jillian 3-4 times. FAIL. I worked out once with Denise Austin, which was okay. She's a bit too perky for me so after I get the workout down I'm thinking of muting her.

I will add that on Saturday we walked the length of two malls, a flea market and a grocery store so while I'm not counting that as a "workout" it was more walking then I've done in a long time.

I'm not going to make any excuses. It's something that I definitely need to continue working towards.

Next week's goals:

1. Drink 4 glasses of water a day.
2. Take vitamins EVERYDAY.

I'm keeping the first two so that I continue to make the right decisions everyday. I haven't included exercise in my list of goals because I'm off from work and will be spending time with my friends. I know that some our activities will involve a fair amount of walking so I'm not too worried about scheduling time to make it happen.

So how did you do this week?

Sleepless Nights...

Lately my sleeping pattern has been all kinds of jacked up. Normally, I wake up in the mornings around 7-ish on the weekdays and go to bed between 11 & midnight.

For the last couple weeks, I've been falling asleep between 9-10 and waking up in the middle of the night multiple times Sometimes it's to go to the bathroom. (All this water I've been drinking has to go somewhere.) Sometimes it's because my hubs has gotten up early and he wakes me up. But most of the time it's for no apparent reason.

Last night I woke up at 3AM and vividly remembered the dream I was having. Let me be clear - I am one of those freaky people that dream EVERY night. Every. Single. Night.

I don't remember most of them unless I make a point to go over my thoughts as soon as I'm awake. The dream wasn't too significant but there were some weird things going on.

-I was in my childhood home which is typical.
-I was with an old friend that I haven't seen in over a decade and had no reason to think of.
-I was around 16 or 17 because I was old enough to drive. Even though in real life I didn't drive till I was 18.
-I was talking to a boy in WV. I've never had a boyfriend from WV, but we do have plans to visit our friends in West Va so I assume that's where that part came from.
-The boy was faceless. I have no idea who he was but it doesn't matter because that wasn't the important part of the dream.
-We had to eat dinner and my Mom, niece & nephew were there. You may recall that my parents were divorced before I was 16, not to mention that my niece & nephew didn't exist then. I guess those two were just too cute not to include.

All odd things, but the most important part of the dream was that I was talking on a CELLPHONE. I was texting on a CELLPHONE.

Apparently my cellphone is so important to me that I am now dreaming about it instead sleeping.

No freakin' way dude. But I do need to get some sleep...
