We're Talking TV Ovah Here

The new fall tv season has begun. That means my DVR is my bff right now while all my books sit on the console tables neglected. We have even talked about getting a second DVR unit so that we can record more than two programs at once.* Sad but true.

The thing is that I don't know if I like a show until I've seen it. Obviously. And with so many debuting in the last couple weeks it's been a tough job to narrow it down. While we are still working on it here are a few new favorites:

Blue Bloods-Drama about a family of cops starring my favorite NKOTB fellow & (still sexy) Tom Selleck

Lone Star-A con artist trying to juggle a wife, a girlfriend and his loser Dad

Chase-About a Marshall with dysfunctional upbringing that relates to the criminals she's chasing

Hellcats-College girl joins cheer squad for scholarship money (Why yes I do have 14 year old tastes)

Not to mention my returning shows: Gossip Girl, Sons of Anarchy, The Mentalist, The Good Wife, Survivor, The Real Housewives of Atlanta** and many, many, many more. It's a wonder I get anything done at home.***

What are your new favorites? I'd hate to think I was missing out on some quality tv.

*Ain't happening. Our cable bill is already ridiculous.

**Really looking forward to the Atlanta women after a very lack-luster DC season. Blah.

***Thankfully we have 6 televisions including one in the kitchen.

The Real Housewife of...

Photobucket

what reality TV game show would you most like to be a contestant on?

I'm a reality tv fanatic. Everything from Survivor to Top Chef to Jersey Couture to Flipping Out. And while I LOVE watching these shows I would never want to be on Survivor (hello, they sleep with bugs), The Amazing Race (heights & I don't mix) or Top Chef (some of those dishes sound less than edible) but...

I would LOVE to be part of The Real Housewives series. Either on one of their shows, particularly NJ, Atlanta or even NY, or starring in my own series - The Real Housewives of B-Tot.* As the house wife of T-Ville* you could follow me around as I work, shop, make dinner, blog, read or resolve disputes over a missing biscuit. (True story.)

I'm sure it would be "Must See TV"...or maybe not but it would still be fun to try it! Provided that they cleaned my house before each taping of course.

Now it's your turn:

Come on over to my water cooler...

Let's chat about American Idol. I may as well because so far this morning that's what everyone is talking about.

The big AI upset. That American "got it wrong". The show is rigged. The conspiracy theories are running amok right now.

And I could care less.

Seriously, I didn't give a darn who won, but I called it early in the season that Adam wouldn't. Some of that was because S was rooting for him and it's always easy to push his buttons, but mainly it the was image that bothered me.

Having seen him you would think he was right up my alley with his black fingernail polish and eye makeup.

Here's my issue - I think the image was contrived. Made up. For show. Not real. Like he jumped into the nearest Hot Topic and got a "glam rock" make over from the cashier.

I couldn't get past that his background is in theater and this was just another character he was playing. He was trying to play America and I wasn't buying it.

Granted the kid could sing. But the faux image turned me off.

I wasn't a regular watcher and often did other things while it was on, but I'm glad that I watched the entire show last night because they had some heavy hitters on there with the contestants.

Like KISS. In full make up and costume performing with who else - the theatrical Adam. And Queen, Black Eyed Peas, Lionel Richie, Keith Urban...plus several others.

My fave though...when Kara DioGuardi (the new judge this season) lays the smack down on "bikini girl". Start watching around 1:35 and watch until 2:37 and you'll see too.

Guess she showed her huh?

Thankfully they turned the volume up...

I'm not going to recap American Idol, but I do have a couple things to say.

First you have to understand that I watched both shows on DVR last night so it was only then that I formed opinions about their performances.

After watching them both I have to say

THANK YOU AMERICA for finally getting rid of that non-singing, non-dancing, bird acting Megan!!

That girl sucked! Sorry but there is no sugarcoating it - she sucked. Actually I feel that may be generous because she was worse than sucky.

In fact if you have been trying to remember where you've heard that type of singing before here's your answer...

And the dancing. Oy! It was so bad it reminded me a lot of this famous footwork...

Watch more YouTube videos on AOL Video

Plus she didn't even act like it mattered with that "oh well" attitude and the bird flapping.

Ugh.

I know she was easy on the eyes and many of you were in denial about how truly sucky awful she was, so I appreciate you coming to terms with it. Again, THANK YOU America for finally turning up the volume and listening to her.

Now if you could come to terms with Scott leaving I would be truly grateful. Yes, I understand that he's blind, but he's no Stevie Wonder and it's just better that he go on home.

Other than Megan's sucky, sucky, SUCKY performance I just want to say this to Allison...PLEASE give my neighbor's rooster credit for the hair do.

What the hell is that?!

Some sort of punk rock/rooster/modern mullet? I dunno, but I did. not. like. it. at. all.

No doubt the girl can sing, but the hair was atrocious.

Can you tell I'm a little bitchy today?

Well you can chalk that up to a lack of sleep Wednesday night for both S and I. Yes, there's a story to tell here...and Mr. Comment Whore himself has wrote a post about it that will go up tomorrow.

Till then I'm relying on lots of caffeine... and comments so get to writing!

Watch the video.

It's not even 6:30 AM here and I'm up.

In fact I've been awake and laying in the bed since 4:30 trying to go back to sleep. Could this be some sorta cosmic payback for the post I wrote about alarm clocks??

Perhaps.

I'm the only one up so I haven't opened my gift yet...you'll have to wait to see what it is. In the meantime, let's chat.

You know this guy right. Well I was watching ABDC's season finale last night and thinking of just how far he's come.

He went from this...

To this...

Then to this...and I will warn you there are some bare buttocks and rock hard abs in this video. If that offends you then well...I feel sorry for ya'.

Soooooooo hot. Want to touch the hiney... (Quick. What movie is this from?!)

Okay where was I?

Yes, oh yes I was thinking of how people used to be.

Here's another comparison for you.

Lil Kim - circa 1996

And Lil Kim now

Me thinks someone got a Jackson makeover. As in Michael & Latoya Jackson.

Scary huh?!

I sure hope her nose doesn't melt under the lights since she's on this season of Dancing with the Stars.

K that's all for now. I'll be back later with a picture of my birthday surprise! I got this beautiful toe ring today. It's sooo cute in person!

Are you guys seeing a pattern??

Making room...

My mind is full of jumbled thoughts right now and I cannot focus on one thing. I've been trying to decide for the last 40 minutes which topic I should blog about but since I cannot settle on one thing here's the mess in my mind right now.

*I've had a FaceBook account for a minute now (I'm HERE if you want to add me.) but just became active a couple weeks ago. I added a few IRL friends and a few bloggy pals, but didn't really look for any previous classmates as so many people do.

Well now they are starting to find me so here's my question(s)...

These are not people that I kept in touch with after school and I wouldn't consider us friends or even associates. By accepting them does that mean I'm obligated to speak to them if I happen to see them out? Do I have to pretend to be interested in their updates (cause I'm really not)? Should I even accept them?

*My Survivor guy got kicked off last night. Jerry had some stomach issues so they voted his ass off the island. Boo! (Sorry Brandy R!)

*The butt dialing commercial is one of my favorites.

I saw another one last night that I really liked but I cannot for the life of me remember what it was now. We were watching America's Best Dance Crew and I thought to myself, find that on You Tube. Now I have no idea what it was. Ugh.

*Speaking of ABDC, you MUST watch this performance. (It starts at the 55 second mark.)

*I'm down 7 pounds now, which is a freakin' miracle since some of my bad habits have creeped back in. I'm still drinking water everyday and I do well during the day but the weekends are when it all falls apart.

*Yesterday we had springlike weather but it's supposed to rain today and snow Sunday. Why does Mother Nature keep playing with me?? Even S is ready...check out his comment from the other day:

Blog about us going on vacation to a warm place with lots of adult beverages and half naked people, that's what I want to do. HE HE. Blog about how beautiful and amazing I think you are. Should get lucky for that one. I heart U.

*During ABDC last night S said he wanted me to get a shirt like this

Because he thinks I'm beautiful and amazing he doesn't realize it would need to be 10 sizes bigger, 20 inches longer and then I'd still have to lose at least 20 more pounds before attempting it. I love him for that.

*Why doesn't blogger recognize the word bloggy?

*Don't forget The Celebrity Apprentice comes on Sunday night! Note to self: set DVR so we can watch Big Love and then watch TCA after.

Phew! I feel better already. Now I've made room...maybe this time I can fill up with something substantial.

Yeah right.

Have a great weekend ya'll!

And the tribe has spoken...

Sure I've mentioned once or twice a dozen times that I'm a reality show addict. I even did this post citing on the lessons I've learned by watching these shows.

But my group of friends and I have taken reality TV to a whole different level. Not only do we watch, and guess who's going home or going to win, but we bet money on it.

We started doing this a million seasons ago with Survivor and now we do it with Big Brother too. Each player gets a Survivor (or BB) name for $10. All the money goes into a pool and if your Survivor wins then you get all the money. It's winner take all...and it definitely makes the show more interesting.

Last night we drew names and I got Jerry.

He's 49, from Rock Hill SC, and a Sgt. in the US Army. This means he looks good on paper (or online as that's where I found the info) but as I've come to realize you can never tell who's going to win.

Past winners included 10 men, 7 women, ranging in age from 22 to 58 so you can't automatically count out anyone since they all have the same shot at winning. Except I really think Jerry is going to pull it out this year...

...that's why I'm already shopping for my summer sandals that Survivor is going to make possible.
