Table Topics Tuesday: "Here fishy, fishy..."

Photobucket

do you possess any of the qualities of your zodiac sign?

I'd like to believe that I posses some of the good stuff - wise, kind & caring, multi-talented - but there are some traits that I would never use to describe myself like ultra popular. Ugh. It just sounds pretentious just saying it - ULTRA popular.

There are a few "bad" traits of being a Pisces that I identify with too. Such as over-emotional, overly-sensitive, temperamental...all of which I blame my hormones for. But then I've never considered myself secretive, easily seduced or gullible. If anything I'm a little less than trusting til I get to know someone.

After reading more about what being a Pisces is supposed to be about I don't think I possess many of the qualities of this fishy zodiac sign. I don't "withdraw into a dream world" or "worry about failing in a crisis".* In fact I seem to flourish under pressure, which is good since I'm also a HUGE procrastinator.

Besides wouldn't a good Pisces know how to swim well? Um yeah not me. At. All.

Now it's your turn: do you possess any of the qualities of your zodiac sign?

The Real Housewife of...

Photobucket

what reality TV game show would you most like to be a contestant on?

I'm a reality tv fanatic. Everything from Survivor to Top Chef to Jersey Couture to Flipping Out. And while I LOVE watching these shows I would never want to be on Survivor (hello, they sleep with bugs), The Amazing Race (heights & I don't mix) or Top Chef (some of those dishes sound less than edible) but...

I would LOVE to be part of The Real Housewives series. Either on one of their shows, particularly NJ, Atlanta or even NY, or starring in my own series - The Real Housewives of B-Tot.* As the house wife of T-Ville* you could follow me around as I work, shop, make dinner, blog, read or resolve disputes over a missing biscuit. (True story.)

I'm sure it would be "Must See TV"...or maybe not but it would still be fun to try it! Provided that they cleaned my house before each taping of course.

Table Topics Tuesday: Hotties

Photobucket

who is in your Top 5?

I'm SO glad that Shannon has started TTT again...and with such a lively topic to kick it off. Ooh la la.

Let's get down to business shall we? Here are my top 5 in no particular order:

Leonardo Dicaprio- From the days of Stand By Me, I've wanted to stand by him. {rawr}

Matt Sanders, aka M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold- The list would not be complete without at least one rocker.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers- Okay so yes, I think this guy is a douche IRL (drunken rages much?!) but I don't want to converse with him if you know what I mean.

George Clooney- Like a fine wine he just gets better with age.

Ian Somerhalder- My God...those eyes...

Table Topics Tuesday: So many, so little time

Photobucket

what bad habit of yours would you most like to break?

Oh, where to start?

My procrastination? The fact that I take on too much? That I cannot stick to a healthy diet?

Now that I'm seeing in writing it seems they are all related. Because I'm so busy all the time I like to rest when I can rest.

Thank God for Sundays!

And so I procrastinate and things that need to get done don't. Not until the last minute. Then I rush, rush, rush to get it done, often times forgetting stuff.

Like the candle I forgot to turn off when I left Sunday.

Being busy is also my excuse for a poor diet. When we have a function then it gives me an excuse to pick up fast food. When I'm relaxing I can justify that big bowl of ice cream by saying I've already "done so much". When I have time to exercise, I don't have the energy.

I admit they are all excuses because believe it or not there are people on the planet that make time for that sorta stuff. Crazy huh?

Maybe in the next 34 years I can get my act together. Maybe...

Table Topics Tuesday: All Inked Up

Photobucket

if you were to get a tattoo right now, what would it be?

I'm wussing out and saying NONE.

Not because I don't like them. I do. There are 5 tattoos that adorn my body:

1) An ankh on my boob that I got at the tender age of 18
2) My husbands name on my left thigh
3) Our oriental birth sign on my right calf; the hubs & I have the same one in the same place
4) A tribal dragon on the left shoulder
4.5) Then a cover up for the dragon
5) My last one is a death bat with the words "Seize the day" under it.*

BUT I learned my lesson on #4. It was a spur of the moment trip to the tattoo parlor when a ski trip was cancelled where I picked out something without any thought.

I ended up having it inked over because I hated it so much.

Originally it was a crappy tribal dragon. The 2nd tattooist changed it so there are now two dragons and the oriental sign for Luck in between them. I'm into symbolism. It's really hard to see in this picture but the dragon eyes are green. Like mine.

So I will never get another tattoo without putting a lot of thought into it. Right now I have no plans to get another one. Again, it's not because I don't like them. It's just that I need to find something that speaks to me. Something that I want.

Because let's face it - they are permanently skin deep.

Now it's your turn:
if you were to get a tattoo right now, what would it be?

*The "death bat" is the logo for Avenged Sevenfold & "Seize the Day" is one of their best songs.

Table Topics Tuesday: Shopping with abandon

Photobucket

if you could win unlimited shopping from one store, which one would it be?

Unlimited. The magic word. Clothes, shoes, accessories - oh my! Or wait should I buy things for the house? New furniture, new bedding and such.

I could pick Target and get both. Aisles and aisles of stuff. Unlimited stuff. It would be what dreams are made of.

But...

It is the beginning of our outdoor season and I have a new deck to accessorize. Lounge chairs, planters, maybe a deck box and a new grill. A few hanging baskets and outdoor lighting to prettify it all up.

Maybe a small garden. Or a big one. New kitchen cabinets or hardwood throughout. A spa tub or custom shower with multiple sprays. Paint, hardware, granite - all shiny & new.

Lowes it is! They can deliver my dream house and outdoor bliss. I can already picture it. My own personal paradise.

Table Topics Tuesday: Your last meal

Photobucket

if you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

In a word - pasta. Any shape, any flavor, any kind. With marinara, meat sauce, fresh tomatoes and basil, Alfredo sauce, garlic and butter.

YUM!

I'm a carb lover so my pasta meal would include fresh-out-of-the-oven Italian bread with a crisp crust and fluffy center, drowning in butter.

To round out my carb laden meal I would have a nice garden salad with ranch or balsamic dressing. That way I won't feel so guilty about indulging.

Especially when dessert is served - chocolate molten lava cake.

Mmmmmmmm...my mouth is watering!

Now it's your turn: if you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

A dinner to remember

Photobucket

what three celebrities would
you invite to dinner?

The King of Rock n'Roll. For sure. A legend that was lost too soon...it would be amazing to see him as he was in his heyday. I can see why woman all over the world swooned when Elvis smiled & shook those hips.

I'd share a peanut butter & banana sandwich with him in a heartbeat. Uh huh

Hilary Clinton is one that I would like to debate with. We don't necessarily have the same views politically but she is one strong, smart, savvy woman. Love or hate her you cannot deny that.

If I could dine with Tupac I would be able to solve one of hip hop's biggest mysteries - his death. IF he's really dead.* And maybe he will be able to shed some light on Biggie's death too. Not that I'm accusing anyone...ahem.

Now it's your turn: what three celebrities would you invite to dinner?

*I'll never understand how someone so dead can still pop out album after album, track after track. It's very suspicious.

Going forward...

Photobucket

would you rather live for a week in the past or in the future?

Initially I thought the past so I could right some wrongs. You see I was a snob and a bully when I was younger. It's not something that I'm proud of but it's the truth.

There are a few people that I would definitely treat differently if I could have a do over.

But then I think maybe that was part of my journey. I have evolved from that person into a much more forgiving, generous person. Yes, I can be snarky, but I try not to be hurtful. I try to encourage rather than discourage people & believe it or not I try NOT to have a negative attitude towards things.*

So my official answer would be the future. I'd love to see how all the kiddos look in a few years. To see how they have grown and if there was anything that I could do to push them in one direction or another.

I can only hope that it would be a good look ahead but if it isn't then getting that peek would give me an opportunity to try and make it better.

Now it's your turn: would you rather live for a week in the past or in the future?

*Notice I said try because let's be honest it is damn hard to remain positive everyday, all day, in all situations. To me that is not realistic. Not for me anyway.

The lesser of two evils

Photobucket

is it harder for you to eat healthy or get exercise?

I literally laughed out load at this weeks question, because really BOTH are a total PITA for me.

Carbs and sweets, oh my! Those two are my guilty go-to snacks on any given day. Give me a fresh piece of bread or Dove chocolates OR combine the two for a chocolate covered doughnut and I'm in heaven.

BUT I know what I should be eating, having dieted before so eating is probably the lesser of the two evils, whereas exercise is the DEVIL!

Exercise and I are life long enemies going way back when I had to wear navy polyester shorts in gym glass & try to smoosh my boobage in a bright green tee. Having a fuller chest is not conductive to running, especially in a normal bra. At 12. Or 34.

Trust me. I've wrote about my woes before.

Anyway, I've never understood how some people enjoy exercising. And those people that "crave" it really freak me out.

I just don't get it & I probably never will.

Now it's your turn: is it harder for you to eat healthy or get exercise?

The perfect rainy day...

Photobucket

what is the best way to spend a rainy day?

It's hard to think about rainy days while the sun is shining so beautifully outside. Temperatures will be reaching the 60's today. The SIXTIES...it's almost like a dream.

A dream that will be ending before long because we are supposed to get rain later this week, with the heaviest downpour on Thursday. Blah.

Ideally I would stay at home, curled up on the sofa with a blanket and the remote control. Comfort food would be on the menu - like soup, pinto beans or a big steaming pot of chicken n' dumplings.

Mmmmm...

Instead my reality on Thursday will be that I have to go out in the rain. To work. And then for darts. I will be back in sweaters & socks and just trying to keep my hair from poofing* too bad.

What's your favorite way to spend a rainy day?

*"Poofing" IS the technical term when you have curly hair like mine.

Big girls who cry-yi-yi...

Photobucket

what is the last thing you cried about?

This one is going to be hard to narrow down for me because I'm an emotional wreck some days.

I cry at songs...like "Fancy" by Reba McEntire, which is about a mother's dying wish for her daughter to prostitute. {"...And criticize Mama for turning me out..."}

At TV shows...such as Undercover Boss when they gave that 17 year old a $5000 scholarship.

At commercials...for example, the sad puppy one where Sarah McLachlan is playing in the background. Breaks my heart. Every. Time.

At movies...'The Notebook' anyone?

I cry when I'm sad. Or mad. Or frustrated.

My hormones are making me a leaky mess in my old age. And I don't like it one bit.

Maybe I'll have a good cry over it.

Table Topics Tuesday

Photobucket

What possession of your spouse's/significant other's would you most like to throw away?

His "swishy" pants. They would be more commonly known as nylon athletic pants, that just happen to make that "swish, swish" sound when he walks.

swish, swish

Although they do make it impossible for him to sneak up on me...

swish, swish

...And it makes him really easy to find in a store.

swish, swish

Too bad they are a potential fire hazard from all the friction...

swish, swish

Not to mention down right ugly!

I'd like to swish, swish them right in the garbage.
