The Monday Blues

I got the Monday blues.

Not only is it Monday but it's raining here, and it's time.

You know of what time I'm talking about. <.> time. Ugh.

And I haven't had one in a couple of months cause I'm a brainiac who skipped her white pills so I'm anticipating a bad <.>. Ugh.

In addition to Monday, the rain and my <.> I also have a ton of things on my plate and yet I chose to do nothing this weekend.

Honestly, I only left the house for about 4 hours on Saturday for a band fundraising thing. Then I preceded to plant my arse on my couch and stay there for the remainder of the weekend.

Now I'm overwhelmed with my Thanksgiving menu. And contemplating online purchases for all my Christmas shopping cause I just don't think I can handle the crowds.

Crowds piss me off.

Especially rude, rushing, oblivious crowds like those in stores now. I don't deal well with those type of situations. (I already experienced some parking lot rage this weekend and was contemplating several avenues of violence against these people before I calmed down & rationalized that being in jail over the holiday would NOT be a good thing.)

Of course some of that could be blamed on the <.> and the hormones that come with it.

Maybe now would be a good time to fill my Lexapro prescription?!

Bits & Pieces

I woke up this morning to a raging thunderstorm. While I would have appreciated it yesterday morning when I had nothing to do...eh, not so much on a Monday morning.

I got soaked getting in the car and then had to fight the monsoon in order to get to work. Pair that with some sinus issues I'm having and it's just not a good start to my week.

Anyway, let's catch up.

I'm declaring victory over the gnats! I haven't seen one all weekend & would be happy to never see one again.

Two weeks ago my new neighbors moved in next door. He is a sheriff in our county & they have two kids. Guess that's the end of our nekkid "clown" parties.* (<--code word alert)

I had an attack of lazyitis so I didn't paint my shutters this week. After much thought I'm going to pass on purple & neon green, instead trying the classy black suggested by so many. Thank you!

I dyed the blonde right outta my hair last week. S said that he preferred the bleached streak but an overall color was much needed. To cover the {cough}gray{cough}. Now I just gotta decide if I want to do that again or go for something more drastic. I'm thinking hot pink...

Several bloggy pals have given me awards over the past couple of months that I have failed to acknowledge. My apologies to all of you...I horrible about not reposting them quicker but I DO appreciate them.

Thanks to April, Lana & Christina! (I hope that I didn't leave anyone out!)

*I'm totally joking about the "clown" parties. Pinkie promise.

Moody Monday

That title seems very appropriate this morning. It rained all day yesterday and it's supposed to rain for the next few days so the skies are gray and gloomy.

Sort of like my mood. Plus I'm tired.

I blame some of that on that blasted VH1 station, because even though I vowed that I would not watch Daisy of Love I found myself still up at midnight watching those rejects blubber over Daisy.

VH1's power over me is stronger than I thought. I wonder if there is a rehab group for reality tv addiction.

Let's be honest though. My entire Sunday was full of television. When we woke up to rain, S and I planted ourselves on the couch to catch up on DVR. We watched 90210, Life, The Mentalist and The Mentalist again when we both fell asleep during one of the episodes.

I tore myself away from the couch long enough to make dinner and then we resumed our positions in order to watch The Celebrity Apprentice.

BTW, is anyone else watching CA and hating Annie Duke? I used to like her in a way where you're proud of her success because she's a woman. Now that I've seen her in action though, I cannot stand her. She is really obnoxious.

As you can see I'm rooting for Joan.

So far I'm dark, gloomy and lethargic. Add to that a little anxiety and irritation -then it would an accurate description of me at this very moment.

Anxiety because I have a "lady doctor" appointment next week. It doesn't matter how old I get, or how many times I go, I still hate it. While necessary it's still humiliating and uncomfortable.

I hate lying there while the doctor and nurse discuss mundane topics, like what they are taking to a barbecue that weekend. That happened last time and let me just say that you don't want to have people talking about baked beans and potato salad while peering at your who-ha.

It's not a good place to be in.

Topping off my little mood cocktail this Monday is irritation. This morning I woke up after the alarm went off. The FIRST time. That never happens, but it did this morning.

I got up, went downstairs and packed up my laptop for work, then came back upstairs to shower. I was in and out before S's alarm ever went off so I was feeling a bit proud of myself.

That is until S got out of the shower and made a comment about me leaving the bathroom fan on. Say what?

It's true, in between getting up and going downstairs I cut the fan/light on when I set my towels in the bathroom. Apparently you aren't supposed to have the fan on if you're not in the shower. Or something like that.

I don't know, and frankly I didn't care. I was on time for once and I wanted to bask in the glow of that, not be chastised for cutting on the fan.

Let's just say that my morning didn't start off as I had imagined it. Thank goodness Monday is only one day...and Tuesday is right around the corner.

Welcome to Theme Week! Once again I've teamed up with Denise and together we've forced welcomed Brandy from the Buzz to mix. Be sure to check out those ladies to see their take on Moody Monday. It can't be as bad as mine.
